I don't think you will find a prettier little Venetian mirror. It is in brilliant condition for its age, and had really pretty coloured glass flowers mounted on the engraved outer ring of mirror. I think the picture tells the story - try to imagine who has gazed into this enchanting mirror.

| Gilded Overmantle Mirror |
The gilding on this carved wood mirror is gorgeous. It is rich and opulent - but tasteful and elegant at the same time (sometimes a hard balance to make!)
The plate has a lovely distressed look, not that hard look that you get with new mirror glass, this gives a lovely soft image. The mirror has classical pillared sides with pediment tops, the carving is discreet and tasteful. All in all a very lovely piece.

This is a really unusual mirror - probably Portuguese or Spanish influence in shape, the gilding on it is soft and muted, restrained in colour rather than flashy. The molding however is wildly over the top with squirls and whirls all over the place.
